That's PDX (Portland's airport) there up above where we collected my sister Monique and her partner Johan last Sunday:

                                                        Yeah! They're here!

It was a cloudy and rainy day which made for a proper welcome to the Pacific Northwest .. everything is nice and green here but yes, it rains .. welcome to Oregon!
Due to the rain and cool temperatures we had dinner inside that first night and somehow we managed to create four seats around our small table .. cozy!

All in all they were quite surprised how much room there is in the RV and quickly got settled in over the next few days.
Due to their jet-leg we kept the sightseeing to some smaller trips those first days, one to the the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville and one to Silver Falls State Park in .. you guessed it, Silver Falls!

We had seen both of these locations already so they borrowed the car and spent some time with just the two of them to go exploring Oregon!

Together we drove to McMinnville on another day to do groceries and look for some boots and clothes Johan wanted to take with him.
It was fun for them to see some of the huge stores over here and what they have to offer.

We had Mexican for dinner in 'old-town' at the very colorful Los Molcajetes:

On Friday we went to Newberg, our previous location, and showed them around our old 'stomping grounds'. We drove a little into the surrounding hills and back to town for 'First Friday':

This event connects Downtown Newberg Businesses and Galleries with local creatives to feature art, music, and tastings on the First Friday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m.
We'd done it before and liked it very much and it gives a nice impression of the small, but cute, downtown area.

We first had pizzas at 'Social Goods', a bar/cafe on main street which, besides pizzas, pretzels and salads, has 40 special craft beers on tap, ciders and seltzers, as well as a 1000 of bottles and cans ready-to-go and wines from the Willamette region.
They can open up the front of the building by raising the glass garage-doors, which they did that evening since it was 26C out there!

Of course we forgot to take pics that included the pizzas, but as you can see they were good since there's not much left!
There was a band playing and there were a lot of people and we enjoyed the lively, easy going atmosphere ..

Afterwards we strolled a little through main street, popping in some of the clothing stores and small art galleries.
Almost all of them offered wine-tastings for free! One of them even offered Gin-tonics, which Monique had always wanted to try so we did.
We both thought they were actually very good and can now better understand the recent 'hype' of drinking it!

We ended the evening at Charters, a local book & coffee store for coffee and cappuccinos ..

Other than that we took it nice and easy in the days in between.
The weather improved greatly with sunny days and temperatures in the low 20(C)s and besides having coffee outside under the umbrellas (so glad I ordered those!) we spent the afternoons in the shade of this big oak tree which is growing right next to the RV:

This picture caused some uproar from their 'home-front' since my sister is deadly afraid of dogs and here she's sitting right next to Coco (and is even smiling)!

To 'earn their keep', as they said, they helped mowing the grass and picking weeds:

Here's two pics of our sleeping arrangements in the shed/office:

The Queen air mattress fit smoothly in the office area and after a couple of nights getting used to it we actually slept really good here! Very cozy indeed ..
During the day we set it upright against the side of where the office door is located:

Since we'd left an opening between the shed-part and the office, we could use the shed-door to come in and out. Perfect!

Now if only those ^%&$#! Bullfrogs in the pond were a little quieter at night! 😕
This is a lucky shot I made when there was a fight going on between two of the males. They're extremely territorial, especially right now in the mating season, and will fight their competitors fiercely:

Frog fight!
(I almost missed the one on the left, you have look carefully)
