As I wrote on Facebook "Is this the summer that isn't going to end?"
Look at that temperature .. 91F ..  in September .. in New York?

I'm sooooooo over this summer ... too hot, too long, too much, enough already... (I know, Bah-humbug) !
But than there's this:

It's coming! Thank goodness ...

In the meantime, we're trying to make the most of it ... OK, just kiddin', we're doing fine, it could be worse, and we're having fun .. most of the time.

Like when we went golfing in Buffalo, at the golf course in Delaware Park.

This is a huge park, with a sort of  'Central Park' vibe (I'm guessing, since I haven't been there, yet), that is extensively used by all sorts of people doing all sorts of activities.
Especially on a beautiful Monday morning ..

Afterward we went for coffee in nearby Lancaster, one of the few small towns around here that has an actual 'old town center', even though it's only 2 blocks long.

And than there was the, supposedly, last hurrah of summer (but nobody told summer I guess), Labor Day!
The campground was fully booked and people arrived in droves on Friday afternoon.

There was a long line of RV's at the entrance for hours ..

The weather was gorgeous, if you like those long, hot days, and management had organized a lot of activities, like a pancake breakfast, a flea market, a basket auction, face painting, a corn roast with a DJ and a (costumed) Golf Cart Parade :

To me it looked more like everybody had dug up their Halloween costumes and decorations but hey, 'all's fair in Love, War .. and Parades', I guess ..

How about this 'Adams Family'. Hilarious, especially Uncle Fester with that light-bulb in his mouth!

But all that is behind us now (and 'good riddance').
Pretty much everybody has left, the grounds are blessedly quiet and peaceful and are probably going to stay that way until they close the Park in October. Yes!

I've re-started my walks once again (I usually don't walk when it's so busy) and, ever so slowly, I see some evidence of Fall creeping in ...

Some tiny flowers are hanging in there ...

(Orange Jewelweed or Spotted 'Touch-me-not' and White Turtlehead)

As far as wildlife still not much is stirring although I found this wading pair of Lesser Yellowlegs on the lake-shore ..

And another Green Heron, doing his very best not to be noticed by standing stock-still ...

The beaver has worked all summer on two more, what look like  small lodges, in front of the big one on the shore .. ?

So hopefully we're now soon entering that most beautiful season of all ... Fall!
It can't come soon enough for me. I'm ready! Bring it on!

The sunsets are getting more color later in the season when the air is colder (?), dryer and cleaner ..
